Dr Adam Harvey-Managing Director
Dr Adam Harvey has specialized in rural development in Africa and Asia over the past 25 years, focusing on water and sanitation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change. He has advised government on improved regulation and has developed practical Public-private Partnership frameworks, most recently in the WASH sector. Dr Harvey holds an MA from Oxford University in Economics and Sociology and a PhD in Engineering from Warwick University, UK.
Annitah Atusinguza-Finance Manager
Annitah Atusinguza leads the administration team and takes responsibility for accounts and office management in our Kampala and regional offices. She plays a key role in our work in mobile money and banking facilities for rural communities. Prior to joining Whave, Annitah worked with Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI) Uganda as a credit officer and customer care officer. She is a Business Statistics graduate from Makerere University.
Frédéric Bergeron-General Manager
Frédéric oversees the Program and Finance teams, and advices the Management Team on data-driven strategic decisions. He also supports engineering, communications and fundraising activities. Frédéric has accumulated over 5 years of experience in aerospace engineering, team management, and international cooperation. He holds an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Montreal and has completed many leadership training programs in Canada and Belgium.
Doreen Anyumel-Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
Doreen manages Whave’s monitoring department. She is experienced in M&E, holding a MSc in Public Health and a BSc in Economics and Statistics. She has strong experience in data management, research and statistics, and has worked for several international and Ugandan government programs, for example for the Medical Research Council, the Good Health for Women Project as their Monitoring & Evaluation officer, the Center for Diseases Control, and the Infectious Diseases Institute.
SERVICE AREA MANAGEMENT TEAM
Faith Tebesigwa Service Area Manager, Teso Region
Previously a Community Development Facilitator over a period of four years, Faith refined her sensitization, resource mobilization and communication skills. She also gained practical experience of gender mainstreaming and the application of human rights-based approaches to development programming. Faith holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Uganda Christian University and an Administrative Law Certificate from Makerere Law School.
William Obore Service Area Manager, Karamoja Region
William is the Regional Program Manager for Karamoja with over 10 years of experience in managing WASH interventions in Uganda. Prior to joining Whave, William worked for CIDI as a WASH Project Manager in Karamoja for 5 years. He also worked for E-Engineering Limited as a Drilling Manager and successfully installed over 285 boreholes across Uganda. William is trained in water quality testing with capacity to monitor water quality parameters and compliance for portable drinking water. He is a Civil Engineering graduate from Kyambogo University.
Daniel Twite Service Area Manager, Central, Mid-West Regions
Daniel leads the Central Region Service Area team implementing Whave’s goal of achieving full functionality of rural water sources. Before that, he was a Service Officer at Whave. Daniel has seven years of experience in irrigation, water source engineering, and social work. He previously worked as a research and teaching assistant at Busitema University, and as a freelancer in the field of irrigation. Daniel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Mechanization and Irrigation Engineering from Busitema University.
Winnie Naula
Assistant Service Area Manager, Nakaseke District
Winnie holds a degree in social work and administration, a post graduate diploma in public administration and a certificate in administrative law. She defines herself as professional, self-motivated, and as a forward thinker. As part of the Whave team for the past four years, Winnie has facilitated positive change and effectively mobilized resources. She has excellent communication, collaboration, and networking skills, with experience in gender mainstreaming and advocacy.
Simon Sengooba
Service Area Manager, Busoga Region
Simon holds 12 years of rich hands-on experience in the Mechanical Engineering Field and 2 years in WASH management. Before advancing to his current role, Simon started out as a Whave Service Officer in Mityana where he gathered and built experience in the handling of WASH management in rural communities, gender inclusion and main streaming in relation to company dynamics. Simon holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, a Certificate of Training in Alcohol Manufacturing Technology, Bio Methanation and Water Treatment, and an Internal Auditor Certificate of Training. Simon is a result-oriented team player and leader.
